Report Highlights the Inspirational Work of Community Organizations
The Trustees of the Yawkey Foundations recently released the Foundations' 2007 Grants Report, listing grants totaling nearly $30 million to more than 200 organizations who work to improve the quality of life in our communities. The report reflects the Foundations’ commitment to Tom and Jean Yawkey’s legacy of caring for people through special programs designed to provide scholarship support to young people and adults, guarantee food and shelter to those without, and ensure young people have access to recreation programs.
"The Trustees have been given a unique opportunity to make lasting and significant improvements to the quality of life in the communities we serve," noted James Healey, President and Trustee of the Yawkey Foundations. "Our opportunity, in turn, creates new opportunities for people and places across New England and in Georgetown, South Carolina."
Since the major expansion of the Foundations’ assets in 2002, the Yawkey Foundations have awarded over 1,100 grants totaling $195 million to a wide range of organizations. For more information or to view the 2007 Yawkey Foundations Grants Report, click here
